Task: 2B - Reflective Writing Task
I used Jenny Moon's 1999 theory to reflect on a ballet class on 14th November. I based it on the following framework:
I was surprised how much I learnt from this. I was reflecting upon a class that didn't go very well and happened to be the day before an audition. After using this framework it became clear that a shift in my mentality from 'dancing for myself and thinking everything is work in progress' to 'how did that look to a director and was it good enough?' was quite possibly responsible, and I do feel like I would be aware of this if a similar situation arose.
I considered that it could have just been a bad day and the more difficult standard could have shifted the atmosphere and results of the whole class. I also am aware that I may have just started the class in a different mood due to other factors.

1)
Noticing
The
student has to register the topic, event or incident as being
important/interesting in some way.
2)
Making
sense
The
student thinks more about what they have noticed and tries to understand it
better.
3)
Making
meaning
The
student starts to ask questions and to connect ideas together.
4)
Working
with meaning
Student
makes links with other ideas and events. They would probably refer to
literature and other research at this point, reflection on the learning is
likely to be taking place.
5)
Transformative
learning
The
student has reached the point where they can formulate new ideas of their
own. They know what they would do if a similar situation arose in the future.

I am looking forward to using other frameworks in the future because I think this was a very accurate conclusion of what often happens to my thought process.
